Machining SUCKS!

Comments:

It comes with all the hardware but seems to have that made in china very cheaply appeal. I ordered 7 sets of which the machined screw holes were too large and the threads wouldn't engage to assemble the stand...only 4 stand out of 7 stands I ordered could be fully assembled. I give this product a solid TWO THUMBS DOWN! Disc gear should validate their products quality--this definitely merits attention.

Comments:

I do not really understand the company's position with this product. Stacking the devices is a tremendous idea and the stands are durable and look fine. However, you can't stack three 100s and expect them to open. Also, if you have the 120 units, they won't fit. These are easy fixes so I do not understand why the company wouldn't take a great idea and make it a great product.

Could really use 1 or 2 more. I have 8 selector 100's and only 2 stands. These units provide the best STORAGE solution. Removing cases to retrieve disc's is a fair trade-off for the compact nature of this device.

[...] I never knew these even existed. I have 4 of the selector 100's and that would make it so much more presentable rather than just stacking them atop one another.

Comments:

I have been using DiscGear products almost from the start for their company. These are the BEST units to hold and store DVD's, Blue Ray, CD's, Software, Video Games, anything that is a Disc. They have on-line software and software that you can purchase to create your own inserts for the units. This way you do not have to hand write you index sheets. IWhen they say lifetime warranty, well, they actually mean it and stand behind their produsts. I recently had a unit that would not open on its own anymore when the button was pushed. Filled out the on-line form, printed the information, sent it in and received a replacement unit. I was actually worried as I purchased this unit 2002 at a mall. No one questioned anything. I was very pleased. I have many of these and have given many as gifts. For DVD's, VD's and video gams I would recommend the Literature Albums for all of the sheet material that comes with Games and such. Great products, Great service.

The Selector Stand has cleaned up my act

  • Easy To Set Up
  • Attractive Design

CONS

  • Not enough space between

BEST USES

  • Larger Rooms
  • Entertainment
  • Basic Systems
  • Smaller Rooms

Comments:

Because there is not enough space between bottom and middle shelf, I use the top and bottom shelf, that way I can open my disc gear without removing them from the stand. It needs a little more space between the shelves so that three disc gears can be stored and opened without having to remove them. P.S. I am still very happy with the product

Stacks but no access

3.0

PROS

  • Attractive Design
  • Durable
  • Compact

CONS

  • Must remove to access

BEST USES

  • Smaller Rooms

Comments:

Great idea gone wrong. Ability to stack is important but you must remove the entire Selector to have it open and allow you take out your chosen disc. So, only benefit is space-saving, not ready-access to media.

Comments:

I picked up this stand to hold my Selector 100's and it exceeded expectations. The stand is all metal, easy to assemble and it's got to be the easiest and most practical way to store these CD holders. Place the holder you use most often on top, as it's the one you'll be able to access without removing it from the stand. You can access all three menus without moving any holders. If you have more than one Selector, you need this stand.

This appears to be a high quality product, it was easy to put together and sturdy. My mistake, I have the Disgear 120 Disc holder, and it will not work with that product. Technical support had no solution but to return the product. I kept it and am trying to make it work with two shelves

Comments:

This unit is a great space saver. I was surprised when I opened the box. I expected a plastic unit and the unit is made of welded steel parts. It is very strong and stable. Too bad that it can only be used for the "selector 100" as I have "selector 80's" as well. Perhaps they will become available for the selector 80 in the future.
