I use the 100 to store DVD's I record from TV. It's compact and makes it easy to find the movie I want to watch. I now have 4 units and will probably order more later.

It would be great if it was the first of it's kind. But it has no lock on it. So you can't really travel with this one and feel safe your cd or dvd's in it. they could spill out very easily. For home use that is kept on a shelf it's ok but for the price i would get a selector 50 i think thats a much better deal and more styleish for home use as well. I wrote one other review and thats for the studio 100 i love that.

We have 13 of these already and are getting 3 more. We have over 800 DVDs, many multi-disk. Storing these in their original cases would take up a small room full of shelving (1/2" wide cases by 800cases = 400 linear inches of shelving, MINIMUM). Instead all 16 of these will fit on one 3'x6' bookshelf with 8 adjustable shelves.

THE PRODUCT IS VERY FINE. THE SOFTWARE FOR TITLES ETC., IS NOT. I DO NOT LIKE TWO LINE DESCRIPTIONS AND SETTING TITLES IS DIFFICULT. SO I GO BACK TO A DIFFERENT 100 SELECTOR TYPE ARRANGEMENT FOR MY DESCRIPTIONS AND PLACEMENTS.

I picked up this stand to hold my Selector 100's and it exceeded expectations. The stand is all metal, easy to assemble and it's got to be the easiest and most practical way to store these CD holders. Place the holder you use most often on top, as it's the one you'll be able to access without removing it from the stand. You can access all three menus without moving any holders. If you have more than one Selector, you need this stand.

Finally I have a way to save my disk in a safe and guarded manner. Regardless of whether you have multiple machines, you can catalog all your disc and find them faster than any other process. I love them so much I even buy them as gifts for my friends. Gary Wilson

Comments:

After searching all disc organizers on the market I chose the Selector 100 based on its size and appearance. I ordered a second one based on its quality and ease of operation. The only negative is aimed at those who value the original covers: it stores only the discs; the covers are disposed of or stored elsewhere.

This unit is a great space saver. I was surprised when I opened the box. I expected a plastic unit and the unit is made of welded steel parts. It is very strong and stable. Too bad that it can only be used for the "selector 100" as I have "selector 80's" as well. Perhaps they will become available for the selector 80 in the future.

I bought a first generation 50 disc holder several years ago. The plastic warped, and it didn't hold up. I was delighted to find that you've significantly improved the material with which you make it now. I missed your selector 100 sale and am waiting for your next one to buy 4 and convert my entire collection.

Comments:

I am a huge fan of this product. My collection is around 250 discs, so 3 of these can hold my entire collection. Adding the DVDs to them is very easy, because they don't need to be in alphabetical order. That really is the Discgear's greatest strength. The list you print out will be in order, and then you just need to see the number next to it. This makes adding new discs easy, because rearranging is not necessary. Just add it at the end, and print out a new list. The software you use to print a list is easy to use. Or if you're just against using computers for this, you can just write them down on the list they also send you. Whenever friends come over who haven't seen them before, once they notice and I show them off, they love them. Several of my friends have gone home and bought some for themselves. I recommend them to anyone, because no matter how big or small your collection, these look much nicer in a living room than a stack of DVDs or, like mine were previously collected, a bookcase full of them.
