I bought two of the discus and the storage shelf, ten years ago, on my senior trip, from the tiniest kiosk in a mall aisle way, on a whim cuz I thought they were cool looking. I have had them ever since, and they are the sturdiest cd cases ever, they have been thrown, they have been stepped on, and they have had things spilled on them, and all my cds are in like new condition. I didnt know the company still existed, but now that I do, I'm going to get a third one to complete my set... and possibly more... lol

I have had an older version of the Discus in my car for years, but my wife wanted it for her car. I'd been keeping an eye out for a while, but it finally occurred to me to look on-line. And you had it in pink for her! Compared to the older version, the biggest improvement is the latch (clicks home when you close the unit). Clever! Also, on the older unit, there was a top and a bottom, with a hinge in the middle of the bottom to allow easier access to the discs at either end. Both latches face up, and you rotate the unit so that the logo is inverted to access the other side. This was a bit confusing. With the newer design, sides A and B are marked (Thanks!) and you flip the unit. Without the hinge in the bottom, the unit does not stay open sitting on a flat surface, but that doesn't matter in a car anyway. I guess the only thing I notice missing on the new unit are the number stickers on each slot (cost cutting?), but I won't miss those. I'd say the newer design is a distinct improvement.

I bought my first discus from [...] a long time ago. When they were packaged as 3-M storage(over 10 years ago). I thought it was so good i bought a 40 slot discus at a mall 4 months later. I had a premium sound system in an 18-wheeler. The punishment these cd holders stand up to is more than impressive. I've: stepped on it(countless times), dropped large tools and truck parts on it, and dropped it out of the driver's door. When I tell people about this product and show them 12 year old discs that look new, they are always impressed. I searched long and hard for a storage system that would protect my cds. I will never buy anything else. This discus will protect and NOT SCRATCH your media. If you need disc storage/protection, BUY THIS PRODUCT! You will not be dissapointed. The only bad thing about this product is stores do not sell it, as far as I know you can only get them online.

Overall it is functional, albeit seems a little flimsy. The case material isn't exactly rigid- but it still works. It doesn't fly, so i don't know why anyone would call it a discus. I had a problem with one of the slots in it being too small for a disc to fit inside, so mine only holds 21, instead of 22. But hey, it beats lugging around my game cases...

Had this in my car forever. Not affected by desert hear, keeps CDs cool even in the summer. Guess, however, that I'll soon have 2 and not just one. What I would like to see is a Discus 40.

They are so sturdy. We have bought other DVD storage but they fall apart within a year. Had 5 of these for over 5 years and they are as good as new!!!

I purchase a discus 20 a few years back and have just purchased 2 more. I will use the new colors to color code my music selection. One for blues, one for country, one for rock, etc. Love it!!

I keep the kids' movies in it in our van for long road trips. Keeps the DVDs safe even with twin boys handling it! Small and easy to pack.
