Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I have three of these and would buy more if I could get my hands on them. Front-loading makes much more sense than Discgear's other top-loading products; you can stack them easily, or fit them in narrow spaces.

Please can we have it back!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I don't know if DiscGear stopped this because of the price point, but I would pay more for it. The front-door feature makes it great for stacking and none of the others work that way (top-door). It just amazes me that they would stop production of such a useful item! I have four and now I cannot get anymore. The top-door units are useless to me.

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

Discgear, please help us!
I have and use 8 Studio 100s and will need 8 more at least. It is the best way to store movies in a compact and stackable form. I have 4 of the auto 100, 2 selector 100s and selector 80. They work great for computer software and music. The new auto 100s are very fashionable, but the Studio 100 is better for others to browse your movie collection and retrieve movies without picking up and moving the containers because of their stackability. Just drop the drawer and seek out the movie. I use most of the Discgear designs for different purposes and am happy to be a loyal customer. I only hope that Discgear brings back the Studio 100 or something that stacks like it, so I can continue to be a happy customer. Thank you, Discgear!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I can't believe you discontinued a product that lets you get the CD's or DVD's out without lifting another stackable holder off first. The fact that the discs come out the front is amazing. You definitely need to bring this back. I could use 5 of these. I won't buy 5 of the others because if I want a CD from the bottom of the stack, I would have to move four disc gears before I could get to it.

Describe Yourself:

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

This is the best design out of all of discgear's home items as it's stackable and, therefore, takes up no space above or below to access the discs (a major flaw in many of the other products). While made cheaper - I have 6 of these and 2 currently require tape to keep shut - I'm still scrounging the web to find more. Best way to store my HDDVDs, BDs, XBOX games, DVDs & CDs - they sure do accumulate!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

The Studio 100 ROCKS!
small size, stackable, removable portable sleves, I've had all the others from "Disgear" and they just don't compare. Had all the other stuff too, the zipper books/binders, usb connected carousels, huge shelf systems...flip the cases to recycling and go to ebay, craigslist, wherever you have to buy as many as you can...
I can't believe they discontinued it. Morons.

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I cannot believe they discontinued their best product! It is the most efficient of all the designs and the easiest indexing to use. It is also stackable and stylish. I have several selectors and through mishandling by others all my dvds have been dumped out several times. Also when the lid is closed on dvds that were not in properly, the edges got damaged. This system is more compact and fool proof.

Please, please, please go back to the studio 100!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

We really like the studio 100. It has prevented our 2 yr old from destroying our DVDs and it saves space as I can hide all of our DVD away from the 2yr old so they are safe and sound. The only downfall is that I found it hard to paste the DVD list to the inside lid of the Studio 100.

800 DVDs in 18" x 25" x 6.5" Amazing!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I have over 700 DVDs in my collection. I needed a space-saving, stackable solution to keep everything organized. I tried the Selector 100. Great product, but bulky, and not stackable. Same with the 100 Auto and Browser 100, not stackable, the top raises to reveal the discs, preventing you from stacking anything on top.

Studio 100 to the rescue!

I can get 100 discs in a 9" x 6.25" x 5.5" space and I stack the Studio 100s four units high. (Discgear only recommends stacking 3 high.) The system has two discs in a numbered sleeve that pivots out of the unit for removal of discs. The sleeves can also be removed and placed into a holder called a satellite for taking your collection on the road. When you're back home, just replace the sleeves into their proper numbered locations and your Studio 100 stays organized.

I have eight Studio 100s now and I am transferring my excel spreadsheet to the Discgear free software. It's searchable database allows you to add discs anywhere into the online "virtual" Studio 100, or in my case, any of the eight studio 100s I own, and keep track of it's position. It does all the alphabetizing and sorting for you so you can just add discs as you acquire them. You can even print out the lists in a format to fit into your Studio 100. With it being online, you can access your collection info from anywhere you have an internet conection. No more wondering if you have a copy that CD of DVD already, just get on the net and find out.

Cons:
If I had to list a drawback, it would be the legs. The studio 100 sits on small pencil thin legs which takes away from their sturdiness when stacked. It dosen't really bother me, but I keep my Studio 100s in a closet on a shelf, if they were out in a room with excited children or pets...they could sway and tip over...eww. This has not been a problem for me, but if the folks at Discgear come up with a more stable stacking solution this product will be perfect!

As for the online software, a great addition would be a connection to an online info site for CD/DVD reference info. Cover-box pictures, liner info, ratings, release dates could all be added to the online disc list automatically, allowing you to search your collection by actor, director, or artist. I think a cover-box picture jukebox-style search would be the icing on the cake!

I love the Studio 100! Two more and I'll have Studio 1000!

ps. My 700+ DVD collection fits on three shelves of a standard 5 shelf bookshelf. My friend's 600+ collection in standard DVD cover-boxes, takes up 3, that's right 3, standard 5 shelf bookshelves, jammed in any way he can make them fit. Rock on Studio 100!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

The only comment I have is about the on-line numbering system. It is not the easest to use, so I have a data-base program I use to list my entries. I can list several different catagories (slot number; movie name; star; time; date; color/b&w; etc) and I can sort any way I want and print out my list! Other wise it is an excellent product. I am buying another one for my father-in-law.

I just finished filling up my 9th and last Studio 100. So I was looking for more. What a bummer to find out that no-one has them any more. Can get them from DiscGear at high price with steep shipping charges. What a shame, a really great unit. Fits perfectly on the shelves of my old DVD storage cabinet and can be stacked. I would recommend it but it's not available.

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

We have had these stacked in different rooms for over a year now and they've had a LOT of use and given us no problems!!

The reason I purchased this Discgear model over their other ones is because it makes the best use of our available space. An added benefit is how sleek they look.

I'm sad to see it's being discontinued!!! Hopefully they'll realize that the Studio 100 meets a need that their "round" and "automated" ones just can't fill!!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I love the Studio 100. I really like the matching satellite carrying case that comes with it. Everything is so convenient. The title sheets are very convenient. I started using my units right away and right out of the box. I am an avid cd collector and I will also use them for my dvd storage once I buy some more. I used address labels on top to identify the different categories of music that are stored in each unit. I will buy a different color for my dvd collection to differentiate between cds and dvds. They are also stackable and pretty stable. The Studio 100 is a perfect gift for anyone who collects cds or dvds.

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

there really wasn't room for con's i mean it's not as well made as the selectors and i do prefer the button to disc that takes it out. However if you travel you can just pic out a few and go. Really easy to use and i guess the only real con was you can't put anything on top of it or the roof sinks in a bit. But it's the size of a 50 selector and holds 100 thats great when you have 100's of dvd's

Works great for starter collection. I have two filled up right now and they work wonders for keeping the dvds safe. However, they are a pain to search through. I also have a selector 100 but its not as safe in my opinion as this. I cant wait for the Browser 100 which combines both.

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

We love this! It's awesome because it fits our bookshelf beautifully... and isn't an ugly round one. Ugh! People don't know what it is right off the bat, which is nice knowing our stuff is truly concealed. I've got the blue ones pictured. We also have one we keep our music c.d.'s in as well. The other benefit... the kids have their own Studio 100 and the adults have 2 for them! It's nice to keep the kid's low so they have access, and we know they won't end up watching something with a rating we're not comfortable with. I am really angry this is discontinued. Shame, shame, shame! And I need another blue for music!

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I have 12 Studio 100s. I got a windfall of over 400 CDs from a company that was going out of business (long story, I was very lucky), and I needed a way to store close to a thousand CDs without taking up much space. These work like a charm: I store the discs in the Studio 100s, and store the dust sleeves elsewhere. I usually toss/recycle the jewel cases.

I have to admit, though, that as my collection got larger, I wrote my own software for cataloging the discs; the Studio 100 isn't made for browsing through CDs, and I didn't use the index sheets very often. The index sheets are fine for one or two of the containers, but they get out of hand quickly if you're trying to find a specific item in a list of 300.

The added Satellite has made it very easy to pack some CDs for a road trip, since the CD sleeves pull out.

In addition, Discgear as a company has always been very friendly and helpful. For example, when I moved last spring, I lost the legs to a couple of my Studios. Discgear sent me replacement sets quite quickly, with no hassle. I've been using their products for over 10 years, and have been quite happy.

Comments about Discgear Studio 100:

I have been collection discs for a few decades now, and have been looking for a decent storage for them. Then I found the Studio 100 a few years back. I now have ~20 Studios. They work very well and are stackable, which helps tremendously with shelf space. I find it sad that they are out of stock.
