My dvd/cd collection exceeds 700 titles. Buying the standard dvd/cd storgae cabinets was becoming expensive and space consuming. My wife bought me my first Discgear unit for Christmas 2008 and it was the best gift I recieved. I can store 100 disc's in a space 1/25th the size of storage cabinet. I have since bought 4 more units and am very happy with this product.

For CDs this has condensed about 20 linear feet of storage space into about 6, a very rough estimate, plus a small box to hold the paper playlists and booklets from the CD jewel boxes.

I use my Selector 100 exclusively for DVD's and because the system is so easy to use and compact I bought another one just so I can store more movies. I even bought one for a friend who was having "storage issues" with all the bulky DVD cases.

I have three 100s with accompaning albums for my CD collection. I love the organization and ease of finding my music without having to hunt forever for what I want. I collect all kinds of music so having more than one Discgear 100 allows me to set up separate categories and put them in groups which makes them easier to find. I use the Discgear online for entering and organizing my Disgears. I also have a 120 for DVDs.

It solves a problem I had...running out of space for my DVD collection. I now have 12 of the Selector 100 and only use a fraction of the space my collection takes up. I spend less time trying to find a DVD since I don't have to look through the whole collection. Just look on the listing of each Selector 100 or find it on the computer and move the slide to the right number...there it is.

This is a great product, but it's time to put some serious work into the Discware indexing system. It's nice to have the online backup of Discware Online, but that it's slow to do the data entry on the web. A better option would be better to have a Backup button in the local app. Also, the program doesn't seem to like the newer operating systems, I entered ninety discs on my new Windows 7 computer only to have it crash without being able to save my work. I now have my index in an Excel spreadsheet. I absolutely love the disc storage units, the operation is smooth, the buttons are nicely integrated into the design and they are just plain cool. Please put some time into a software package that measures up to the same standards as your physical product.

My mom bought the 120Auto for my boyfriend last year for Christmas. This year I had to add this one. I'll add as many as we need to until all of those annoying loose CDs and DVDs are stored and organized! The first one fit all our movies, the second is being utilized for his music CDs. Will probably get a smaller one for all those CDs that come wtih new computers and programs.

I recently purchased my 5th & 6th units because our DVD collection is continually growing. Although it takes considerable time to input 100 disks in each unit, once done it is time well spent because accessing and finding disks is at your fingertips; the program allows you to print separate sorted lists by Title, Sub Catergory, and Artist. What I haven't found so great is that the Selector units don't stack and Discgear discontinued the stands, so storing the units can be cumbersome (but they don't take up as much storage as the actual disks in their cases would).

I like the compactness of storing my CD/DVDs. The design of the Selector 100 I find very attractive, especially the brown color.

My software did not allow me to save my list as I was creating it. This was a real inconvenience, since I had to keep it on the screen, until I finished it. At one point, I lost my work and had to start over, when I had been half way finished.

I bought one from one of those kiosks in the shopping mall about 2 years ago. I didn't really intend to buy it but the girl at the kiosk was very persistent because she said that they closed their kiosk in a few days. It was 50% of or [$] and to me, that's still expensive and I think the invention is the one that costs, not the material or labor. When I brought it home, turned out that it's pretty cool because it's helpful! I have so many movies, DVD's with cases, music CD's, computer CD's and I can put 100 disc's in one compact cases! But the best thing is that I can organize the way I want, I can see the list of 100 discs in front of me right there and the thing will pick up the disc for me sideway and my hands won't have to touch the other side of the disc that may make it dirty or scratched. It's a very clever invention! The only thing I wish in the next version is that the design should change somehow so that it is stackable (I already have 3 of them) Another con is that, for me, it's kinda pricey (but you'll get what you pay for and I bought those this past Thanksgiving when they have big sale, buy 1 get 2 free!)

got as a gift and like the concept but vista will not load the diswarelite 1.5 software. hangs up at the end of the install. i've tried 3x now same result. is there a place to find the software that will work with vista. i don't want to do the online lists, prefer to keep files in my system. really want this to work but so far nada.

This has allowed me to sort out my collection and decide what I want to keep and do so in a very orderly manner. I can find the CD's and DVD's that I want for the 1st. time in 6 years!

To be totally effective you really need the Discgear PLUS the Literature Album in order to be able to identify and find all the information about your collection. My first order came bundled with the Album and the next order did not include the Album. I was very disappointed to have to go back and order them separately at additional cost.

A great way to store and organize your photo cds and movie dvds. I was running out of room for photo albums when I received my first Selector 100 and literature album as a gift. Since then I have purchased many more! Now instead of printing every picture I take, I burn all my pictures to a cd, print a 5 X 8 index card of the pictures on that cd, then store them in the Selector and index album. Anytime I need a picture I can easily find it. I also used the Selector for all my movie dvds and placed the cover from the dvd into the literature album. Saves so much room and makes everything easy to find!!

I have over 400 CDs. Many of the CD cases were broken and my wife hated they way they attracted dust all the time. I purchased 2 of these units to try out and like them so much I bought 4 more. They do exactly what they're made to do. The only thing I wish is that Discgear would update the software so it could align your printer to print directly on the included "Title Cards".

At first I was very sceptical of this system. I received one as a gift and put it away for a very long time. I just could not see giving up those little jewel cases. Then one day I decided that my CD's were taking up too much room and were not easy to locate. So, I decided that I would give it a try. To my amazement I found that this was the greatest system. I could locate any CD in seconds, they took up a very small space and I could keep the CD covers in a book for easy reference. Once I became accustomed to the Selector 100, I then purchased many more and now store all of my media in them. This freed up so much space and has made my enjoyment of movies and music even better.

I saw a storeage device like this years ago and opted to use something that would hold the disc boxes that came with the "products" I was purchasing. What a mistake. Then my wife started do complain about the number of racks that I had purchased and the amount of space that they took up. Purchased the 2-"100s'" and "2 50s'" Now I have a happy wife and a whole lot of room reclaimed. I can also quickly find exactly what I am looking for almost instantly. We have 13 of these already and are getting 3 more. We have over 800 DVDs, many multi-disk. Storing these in their original cases would take up a small room full of shelving (1/2" wide cases by 800cases = 400 linear inches of shelving, MINIMUM). Instead all 16 of these will fit on one 3'x6' bookshelf with 8 adjustable shelves.

Finally I have a way to save my disk in a safe and guarded manner. Regardless of whether you have multiple machines, you can catalog all your disc and find them faster than any other process.

After searching all disc organizers on the market I chose the Selector 100 based on its size and appearance. I ordered a second one based on its quality and ease of operation.

The only negative is aimed at those who value the original covers: it stores only the discs; the covers are disposed of or stored elsewhere.

I have at least 7 selector 100s. I find they keep my DVDs in an organized and more compact way than other organizers. In the pst I kept my CDs in book orgaizers and the CDs got scratched from the case! This doesn't happen with the selector 100. I am grateful to be able to store my media and feel assured that they are kept safe from scratches.

The software is fairly easy to use but is very proprietary and will not let you copy or merge. After I entered three hundred titles I realized I should have entered them into a word processor first. It would be MUCH more efficient to search my collection!

I purchased my 1st 2 from QVC and a notebook came with each of them to file the covers in and I loved that. This one came without a notebook and I hate that. I would recommend getting it from QVC because of the notebooks and not directly from the site. The product itself it great. My husband loves them. Kathy

The small footprint allows me to free up space in cabinets and find things easily. I have several of these units, and what makes it even better is the online management which helps me identify and keep every disc in its place. With this Selector 100 I've been able to organize all my computer programs, movies, games, musice and last but not least, all my family photo's that I've put on CD's / DVD's. I have three of the Selector 100's and I am very happy with them. The functionality of the product is great, and it also looks sharp. I use them for DVD's, CD's and Computer Software. The quality and attention to detail of the product is superb. The only gripe I have is that the software package included with the Selector series is a bit rudimentary and not so easy to use. I would like some more filing options and a little more functional user interface. This is not a show stopper, though. The product itself overcomes any small shortcomings.

After market jewell cases are more often junk than not. Place a jewell case up in the air and even with your eyeline, hold it flat, look at it against a white background, in a Large percentage of jewell cases you will find the disc is tilted up one way or the other. This is a future warped disc. It is because they are not manufactured with long term storage or care in mind. DVD cases present similar problems. Sometimes you have to pry the disc out of some dvd cases! Disc gear products were a dream come true for this HD-DVD, BLU-RAY, DVD, AND CD COLLECTOR! I only wish they made a Laserdisc disc gear storage system! Disc gears protect discs from dust, immediately line the disc up for the edge type grasp, and store the discs under near zero stress! The only negative aspect is the super close disc to disc line up. If you take a disc out by hand, you must be careful not to rub discs together. I have solved that problem. I place 25 discs in a 50 disc gear, and 50 in a 100 disc gear. It still allows for an awful lot of storage, and hard to find collector discs stay in A-1 shape. I have mirror like discs that have no scratches or prints since the format dvd was released! You space them in every other slot, for those that haven't already figured that out! In my experience, I have found that the 50 disc gears are generally the smoothest built machines, with the standard 100 disc gears running a close second. I have frequently noticed alignment problems with other variations of the disc gear designs. Poor machine alignment can press the discs against others, or against the plastic of the storage product. I have never noticed such problems in the round 100s or 50s. I use nothing else, in fact, I was thinking about doing a home theater newsletter, and this was one home theater product I was going to rave about! One last thing! I would like disc gear to incorporate this technology into home theater, dust free cabinets! I would like to see the precision of the 50s and 100s built into a multi stack type home theater cabinet! Nuff said!

i use the selector 100 to feed my scd+g & cd+g karaoke machines. my books use #s 1 to 100 for discs and - 1 to1 16 etc. for tracks.

My collection of DVDs numbers around 260 and the amount of space that I have saved can't be put into words.
